How to Join
The First California Company of the Jamestowne Society -

Membership in the Jamestowne Society is by invitation and recommendation by a current Society member. This is in accordance with the Societies By-Laws. A prospective member must document a line-of-descent from one qualifying Jamestowne ancestor and present it to the Society’s registrar-genealogist. You can review the qualifications for joining here.

The First California Company of the Jamestowne Society is one of 37 Companies of the Jamestowne Society that are organized pursuant to its Mission Statement. When you join the First California Company, you will affiliate with other members and can participate in events and other special event activities in California.

Any member of the national Jamestowne Society may join the First California Company upon application to the Membership Chair.  Prospective members of the Jamestowne Society may attend First California Company functions as a guest.  Individuals who are not eligible for Jamestowne Society membership may affiliate with the First California Company as a Friend.
    - Member dues are $30 per year.
    - Friend dues are $20 per year.

There you can find the list of Ancestors names appearing on the Charters as well as proof of descent from a Qualifying Ancestor. Persons proving descent from any one of these individuals would be eligible to join the Jamestowne Society. A general list is can be read at http://www.jamestowne.org/QualAncestors.htm

Qualifying Jamestowne Ancestors Booklet
Order a copy of our complete Qualifying Ancestor Booklet, which contains over 1500 names of individuals whom we believe qualify as Jamestowne Ancestors. Family Lineage Papers
Qualified individuals seeking membership may be assisted in their ancestor search process by requesting, in writing, special Family Lineage Papers. There is a small fee for the copying and mailing of these to you.
